Netradyne
Netradyne analyzes 100% of drive time—so your drivers get the credit, and the coaching, they deserve.
When safety is on the line, precision matters. Unlike Lytx, which achieved just 36% alert accuracy across six unsafe driving categories in a recent study, Netradyne delivers alerts with up to 99% accuracy. This precision is largely the result of analyzing 100% of drive time — Netradyne is the only solution provider that does so.
With superior video clarity, real-time coaching, and automated recognition of safe driving, Netradyne empowers fleets to act faster, coach smarter, and drive safer.

Netradyne’s alerts are up to 99% accurate. This high level of accuracy is achieved by analyzing vast amounts of data. Netradyne's precision is a result of many factors, but the main advantage is that it analyzes 100% of drive time, giving its models a wealth of training data. No other fleet safety solution providers analyze all driving time.
According to its website, Lytx offers over 95% accuracy across 60+ risky driving behaviors, but a 2023 Virginia Tech study found Lytx had just 36% alert accuracy across six unsafe driving categories. Lytx’s trigger-based alerts assess only specific driving events rather than the full driving day, which may lead to missed coaching opportunities and fewer chances to recognize safe driving.
Netradyne uploads data to the cloud within three minutes, ensuring that fleet managers receive key notifications while they're still relevant. The system's advanced AI is specifically trained to accurately detect and assess the severity of various driving behaviors to be coached in the moment so drivers can modify their actions.
Lytx relies heavily on human reviewers to confirm results, which can delay the delivery of key notifications to fleet managers, sometimes taking overnight or longer. For example, Lytx’s traffic light detection system requires a human to determine the severity of violations and cannot provide in-cab coaching for that behavior at the moment of the incident.
All Netradyne Driver•i devices offer high definition 1080p video at 30 frames per second (FPS) from the driver facing and road facing cameras. Netradyne also offers the industry’s only four-camera configuration integrated into a single windshield-mounted unit. Netradyne provides 33% smoother in-vehicle playback when reconstructing incidents frame-by-frame compared to Lytx.
Lytx’s DriveCam also offers 1080p resolution for all views. However, Lytx in-vehicle camera is limited to 20FPS, this lower frame rate can result in choppy, less detailed video when analyzing fast-moving or abrupt incidents compared to the higher framerate offered by Netradyne. Those extra frames can be the difference between clearly seeing what happened and having to guess.
There is a proven correlation between a driver's GreenZone Score and their collision rate. Data shows that a 50-point increase in GreenZone score equates to 13-15% decrease in collision rates.
Lytx offers configurable scoring, which makes it difficult to calculate the system’s impact on accident reduction across all fleets in the Lytx customer base.
DriverStars are automatically awarded for actions that mitigate unsafe driving situations. Drivers earn DriverStars for safe driving behaviors such as maintaining a safe following distance, obeying stop signs, and complying with speed limits. In-cab kudos help reinforce safe driving behavior.
Lytx offers no proactive automatic in-cab recognition for safe driving.
Netradyne’s driver self-coaching provides real-time, in-cab feedback and post-trip coaching through the Driver•i mobile app. AI-driven voice alerts and visual cues notify drivers of risky behaviors. After trips, drivers can review event footage and performance insights in the app. Positive reinforcement motivates safer habits. For manager-led coaching, Netradyne offers AI-driven tools to prioritize sessions based on real-time performance data.
Lytx’s driver self-coaching provides post-trip feedback through in-cab alerts and the Lytx Driver App. Most self-coaching takes place in the app. Lytx doesn’t proactively recognize good driving in the moment. Since Lytx relies more on cloud-based processing, there may be a delay in feedback availability. Coaching is typically conducted through scheduled manager sessions.
Netradyne’s edge computing processes video and telematics data in real time directly on Driver•i devices, enabling instant driver alerts and risk detection without relying on cloud processing. This provides alerts and high-definition video access more quickly and ensures critical insights even in low-connectivity areas.
Lytx’s edge computing is more cloud-dependent, with limited on-device processing. While some real-time alerts are available, most insights require cloud analysis, leading to potential delays in video access and driver feedback. This approach reduces hardware complexity and costs but can be less effective for immediate coaching and real-time situational awareness, especially in poor network conditions.
"We’ve processed over 20 billion miles of anonymized driving data — and we’re adding 700 million more each month. This isn’t just GPS data. We track the trajectory of every object, read over 100 types of signs, and understand full visual context. That lets us generate incredibly accurate risk assessments, including a driver’s GreenZone Score — a proprietary metric that correlates directly with accident reduction."

Netradyne continuously captures driving behavior, automatically identifying and categorizing risk. The system provides only the relevant footage for each incident, saving your fleet managers hours of review time.
Lytx depends on human reviewers to confirm and categorize alerts. The manual human intervention can cause delays.
Netradyne identifies vehicles, pedestrians, lane markings, road conditions and over 100 types of signs in real time. On-device processing enables proactive driver alerts for potential hazards. Its high-definition, 120dB HDR video enhances object recognition accuracy, even in complex driving environments and varying lighting conditions. Netradyne also offers sophisticated object detection for road signs.
Lytx relies on a combination of camera and cloud-based processing to identify vehicles, pedestrians, cyclists, and lane markings, as well as detect risky behaviors. While it provides important driver insights, its lower resolution and reduced frame rate may limit object recognition accuracy, particularly in fast-moving or low-light scenarios.
Netradyne’s “standard” drowsy driving detection provides detailed tracking of head movements and eye indicators to flag many subtle signs of driver drowsiness. The addition of the award winning DMS sensor further increases the level of detection, even through most sunglasses. DMS reviews dynamic features such as raised eyebrows and eyelid status and movement indicators such as drooping eyes, slow blinking and closed eyes, and head movements such as nodding and tilted heads.
Lytx’s drowsy driving detection primarily relies on yawning and some evaluation of the driver’s eyes. These behavioral cues often indicate drowsiness only after it has already impacted driving performance. Lytx does offer in-cab coaching based on these patterns, but its system lacks advanced real-time facial and eye-tracking analysis.
Netradyne’s compound alert capability enhances risk assessment by analyzing multiple risky behaviors occurring simultaneously to identify higher-severity events. This layered analysis helps fleet managers distinguish between isolated infractions and truly dangerous driving patterns. Because this processing happens in real time on the device, high-risk situations can be flagged immediately.
Lytx’s risk assessment is primarily event-based, meaning individual behaviors such as hard braking, speeding, or lane departures are detected separately rather than as part of a compound analysis. While Lytx can identify multiple risk events within a given timeframe, it does not escalate risk categorization based on overlapping behaviors in real time.
Netradyne’s flagship Driver•i D-450 model is the only one in the industry to feature four camera views in one convenient device. Extended views with up to four additional cameras are available with the Driver•i D-Hub for a total of eight camera views.
Lytx only offers dual-view cameras in one device. Extended visibility with up to four auxiliary cameras for a total of six camera views.
Netradyne GreenZone Scores and earned DriverStars and DriverStar streaks encourage friendly competition among drivers. GreenZone scores and the driver’s peer ranking appear automatically in the Driver•i app, and they can see any time how good and poor driving affects their scores. The GreenZone score has a direct correlation with the projected collision rate per million miles and managers can easily implement rewards programs and incentives for top performers and most improved drivers.
Lytx enables a ranking of drivers based on their driving scores, and drivers can see where they fall in the rank in their driver app. However, there is no positive recognition in the app; they just see if they are moving up or down in rank.
Netradyne goes beyond traditional fleet safety solutions by providing a dedicated customer success team for personalized onboarding, training, and ongoing optimization through regular account reviews. See the difference firsthand. Experience the difference in a live product demo.
