ABC Home & Commercial Services offers a broad range of residential and commercial services—from pest control to lawn care, landscaping, cleaning, and pool maintenance. Operating in nearly a dozen markets across Texas and Florida, the company has been serving home and business owners since 1949.

ABC faced significant challenges among technicians driving service vehicles, including distracted driving, speeding, stop sign violations, and decreased productivity. An inferior telematics program impacted dispatching and customer service. Frustrated by inaccurate alerts and a lack of meaningful insights, ABC realized its existing video-based safety system couldn’t help it improve its driving record or increase productivity. With its old camera solution, ABC’s Safety Managers received alerts about negative events like hard braking, but they couldn’t tell why those events happened. Driving improvement across the board

Thanks to the combination of coaching, accurate in-cab alerts that warn technicians of potential hazards as they drive, and the motivation to improve their GreenZone Scores, ABC quickly saw measurable improvements. “When we started on the system, there were a lot of violations happening and now we’re seeing the rates come down significantly. It’s been very good for us,” said Johnson.

With Netradyne, speeding incidents dropped by 50%. There was also a reduction in distracted driving and missed stop signs.

Driver and fleet GreenZone Scores also saw marked improvement. With a target score of 850 or above, ABC’s average score rose from just under 800 in July to over 900 by September.

ABC believes these improvements will boost its ranking on its insurance company’s performance platform. “We’ve been in the bottom third of every quarter, but with Netradyne and its analytics, we’re aiming to get to the top,” Johnson said.

This isn’t just about climbing the rankings—it reflects a tangible reduction in accidents and related costs, including the company’s $25,000 deductible per vehicle.

Building efficiency

ABC has also seen significant time savings with Driver•i One. “The system runs itself,” Johnson said. “I don’t have a lot of management time sunk into constantly having to get into the system and override things that aren’t right or dig into an issue.”

With GPS tracking, ABC can quickly identify which technician is closest to an emergency location when a customer calls for help. GPS data is also helping the company improve customer service and technician training.
