Company Summary

Ralph Moyle, Inc. (RMI) traces its roots to founder Ralph Moyle, who began hauling produce at 13 years old in Mattawan, Michigan during World War II. Officially incorporated in 1966, the company has grown into a regional logistics partner supporting industries across the central and eastern United States. Today, Ralph Moyle employs more than 130 people and operates a fleet of 60 tractors.

Challenge

When Ralph Moyle decided to invest in fleet safety technology, Ashley Kordish, Chief Executive Officer, and Rob Ludlow, Associate Compliance Director, were managing driver performance without video visibility into what was actually happening on the road.

With no camera system in place, the team had no video context to draw from when coaching drivers or investigating incidents. When fault was disputed, there was little to rely on beyond the driver's word. Ralph Moyle needed a solution that would give them real visibility into on-road behavior, support driver development, and build trust rather than erode it.

Peer recommendations from fellow carriers within the Truckload Carriers Association pointed Ralph Moyle toward Netradyne. After evaluating Motive and Lytx, including live in-cab demos, the decision came down to superior video quality and AI-powered coaching capabilities that no other provider could match. Midway through their contract with Netradyne, a demo from Samsara put the platform to the test again. The result was the same: Netradyne's camera reliability, portal interface, and customer service stood apart, and there was no reason to look elsewhere.

Solution

Ralph Moyle deployed Netradyne's full 360° camera configuration across the fleet. From the start, Ludlow structured the program around coaching, not surveillance. He reviewed alerts daily, using the video context within each alert to gain an objective understanding of events, and called drivers directly before initiating any coaching conversation to first gather their perspective.

"I always want to get the driver's perspective before coaching. The system might flag a stoplight, but there are situations where stopping isn't possible. You're already past the point of no return."
— Rob Ludlow, Associate Compliance Director

Early skepticism faded as drivers realized the footage was being used to protect them, not catch them. Once they understood the system, buy-in followed quickly.

The GreenZone® Score became central to their safety program. Ralph Moyle built their safety program around it, tying the GreenZone® Score, Netradyne's comprehensive metric that tracks both safe and risky driving behaviors, to driver bonuses alongside on-time delivery and other performance metrics. Drivers scoring below 700 received structured retraining. Those at 800 and above qualified for bonuses. The shift was immediate. Drivers began to proactively monitor their own scores and performance.

Results

Fleet GreenZone® Score climbed 27% in a single year.

The bonus benchmark has been raised three times since the program launched, reflecting how quickly drivers elevated their performance. One driver who spent months in the bottom three of the fleet climbed from a score of 668 to a consistent range of 904 to 968, an achievement recognized with a dedicated Netradyne award at the company's annual banquet.

“We went from ‘No, I didn’t do that’ to now getting calls saying, ‘Hey, did you see a video of me?’” Ludlow said. “Since we started using Netradyne, it’s really helped grow and evolve our safety culture to the point where it’s now just a part of our everyday operations.”

The platform also transformed claims management. Easily accessible video footage has repeatedly exonerated drivers in disputed incidents, supported law enforcement investigations, and improved the company's standing with its insurance partners.

Next Steps

At Ralph Moyle, Netradyne has evolved beyond a safety tool and is now embedded in the company’s safety culture as part of how they operate every day. The team continues to raise GreenZone® Score benchmarks as drivers reach new performance thresholds, and the platform remains central to how safety is coached, measured, and reinforced across the fleet.

“Our team manager came in and said, ‘The contract’s coming up, what do you think?’ I said, ‘We’re not even going to discuss it. We’re going to renew,’" Ludlow said.

For fleets considering the investment, Kordish is equally direct about the value Netradyne has delivered.

"I truly can't say enough about how great this tool has been to help our organization," Kordish said. "It's been invaluable to us."
