Associate Product Support Technician


We are looking for a Associate Product Support Technician to join our fast-growing team in San Diego. The Associate Product Support Technician will assist with the development of technical documentation. The role will support engineering with product issues, maintain the lab, and build and maintain test fixtures and equipment. The ideal candidate will experience working as part of a professional product development team and exceptional communication skills.


  • Assist with the development of technical Documentation.
    • Install & Repair SOPs.
    • Product use SOPs.
    • Field debug SOPs.
  • Support engineering with product issues as part of the product support team.
    • EX: Debug and OS upgrades with the assistance of engineering and product support engineers.
  • Manage and support friendly customer accounts (ex: local Stanley Steemer, etc.).
  • Support with site visits to local customers as required.
  • Support the field teams by managing material requests and shipping.
  • Maintain the Lab, build and maintain test fixtures and equipment.
  • Build one off material requirements such as custom debug cables.
  • Help manage support lab inventory.
  • Domestic travel as required for product support issues.
  • Some basic soldering.
  • Unusual Hours may be required at times to work with our India team.


  • 2+ years of relevant experience.
  • Familiar with Test Equipment such as Volt/Ohm Multimeters (Oscilloscopes a plus).
  • Ability to read design schematics.
  • Basic Soldering skills.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft office products such as MS Word, Excel and Power Point.
  • Ability to work in the field in an automotive environment.
  • Willingness for domestic travel as required (approx. 30 %).
  • Good communication skills and ability to work with customers.
  • Perform product installations as needed for field testing or customer support.
  • Assist with custom cable designs and manufacturing drawings.
  • Building test fixtures.
  • General lab management / inventory control.
  • Familiarity with Linux Operating Systems (OS).
  • Experience working as part of a professional product development team a plus.
  • Familiar with creating/editing SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) & modifying pdf documents a plus.
